Evaɱ me sutaɱ ekaɱ samayaɱ Bhagavā Sāvatthiyaɱ viharati.|| ||

Tatra kho Bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi:|| ||

'Bhikkhavo' ti.|| ||

'Bhadante' ti te bhikkhū Bhagavato paccassosuɱ.|| ||

Bhagavā etad avoca:|| ||

Yaɱ bhikkhave sīlavanto pabbajitā gāmāɱ vā nigamaɱ vā upanissāya viharanti,||
tattha manussā tīhi ṭhānehi bahuɱ puññaɱ pasavanti.|| ||

Katamehi tīhi?|| ||

vācāya,
manasā.|| ||

Yaɱ bhikkhave sīlavanto pabbajitā gāmaɱ vā nigamaɱ vā upanissāya viharanti,||
