Ekaɱ samayaɱ Bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi:|| ||

'Bhikkhavo' ti.|| ||

'Bhadante' ti te bhikkhū Bhagavato paccassosuɱ.|| ||

Bhagavā etad avoca:|| ||

2. "Catuhi bhikkhave dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataɱ nikkhitto evaɱ niraye.|| ||

Katamehi catuhi?|| ||

Pāṇātipātī hoti,||
adinnādāyī hoti,||
kāmesu micchācārī hoti,||
musāvādī hoti.|| ||

Imehi kho bhikkhave catuhi dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataɱ nikkhitto evaɱ niraye" ti.|| ||

Pāṇātipāto adinnādānaɱ musāvādo ca vuccati,||
Paradāra-gamanañ cāpi nappasaɱsanti paṇḍitāti.|| ||
