Ekaɱ samayaɱ Bhagavā Sāvatthiyaɱ viharati Jetavane Anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme.|| ||

Tatra kho Bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi|| ||

"Bhikkhavo" ti.|| ||

"Bhadante" ti te bhikkhū Bhagavato paccassosuɱ.|| ||

Bhagavā etad avoca:|| ||

"Cattāro'me bhikkhave udakarahadā.|| ||

Katame cattāro?|| ||

Uttāno gambhīrobhāso,||
gambhīro uttānobhāso,||
uttāno uttānobhāso,||
gambhīro gambhīrobhāso.|| ||

Ime kho bhikkhave cattāro udakarahadā.|| ||
