Ekaɱ samayaɱ Bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi:|| ||

"Bhikkhavo" ti.|| ||

"Bhadante" ti te bhikkhū Bhagavato paccassosuɱ.|| ||

Bhagavā etad avoca:|| ||

Cattārome bhikkhave thūpārahā.|| ||

Katame cattāro?|| ||

Tathāgato arahaɱ sammāsambuddho thūpāraho,||
paccekabuddho thūpāraho,||
Tathāgatasāvako thūpāraho,||
rājā cakkavattī thūpāraho.|| ||

Ime kho bhikkhave cattāro thūpārahāti.|| ||
