Ekaɱ samayaɱ Bhagavā Sāvatthiyaɱ viharati Jetavane Anāthapiṇḍikassa Ārāme.||
Tatra kho Bhagavā bhikkhu āmantesi:|| ||

Bhikkhavo ti.|| ||

Bhadante ti te bhikkhū Bhagavato paccassosuɱ.

Bhagavā etad avoca:|| ||

Pañc'ime bhikkhave ādīnavā Madhurāyaɱ.|| ||

Katame pañca?|| ||

Visamā,||
bahurajā,||
caṇḍasunakhā,||
vāḷayakkhā,||
dullabhapiṇḍā.|| ||

Ime kho bhikkhave pañca ādīnavā Madhurāyanti.|| ||
