Ekaɱ samayaɱ Bhagavā Sāvatthiyaɱ viharati Jetavane Anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme.|| ||

Atha kho āyasmā Ānanda yena Bhagavā ten'upasaɱkami.|| ||

Upasaɱkamitvā Bhagavantaɱ abhivādetvā eka-m-antaɱ nisīdi.|| ||

Eka-m-antaɱ nisinno kho āyasmā Ānanda Bhagavantaɱ etad avoca:|| ||

Bhinnaɱ pana bhante saŋghaɱ samaggaɱ katvā kiɱ so pasavatī ti? Brahmaɱ Ānanda puññaɱ pasavatīti. Kiɱ pana bhante brahmaɱ puññanti? Kappaɱ Ānanda saggamhi modatīti. [77] 1. Sukhā Saŋghassa sāmaggi samaggānañca anuggaho Samaggarato dhammaṭṭho yogakkhemā na dhaɱsati Saŋghaɱ samaggaɱ katvāna kappaɱ saggamhi modatī ti.|| ||
