Ekaɱ samayam Bhagavā Sāvatthiyaɱ viharati.|| ||

Tatra kho Bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi:|| ||

"Bhikkhavo" ti.|| ||

"Bhadante" ti||
te bhikkhū Bhagavato paccassosuɱ.|| ||

Bhagavā etad avoca:|| ||

"Cha'y'imāni bhikkhave, indriyāni.|| ||

Katamāni cha?|| ||

Cakkhu'ndriyaɱ||
sot'indriyaɱ||
ghān'indriyaɱ||
jivh'indriyaɱ||
kāy'indriyaɱ||
man'indriyaɱ.|| ||

Imāni kho bhikkhave, cha indriyāni.|| ||

Yato kho bhikkhave, ariyasāvako imesaŋ channaɱ indriyānaɱ samudayañ ca||
atthagamañ ca||
