Vacī Sucarita Suttaɱ

 Thus have I heard:
On a certain occasion the Exalted One addressed the monks, saying:
"Yes, lord," they replied, and the Exalted One said:
"Monks, there are these four right practices.
speech not spiteful,
and mantra speech."
"These are the four right practices.
 Mantā-bhāsā: cf. infra, Ī 221. Comy. mantā-sankhātāya paññāya paricchinditvā kathitakā. For similar expl. cf. SnA. 204, etc., and P.Dict. s.v.; Nidd. 497 (= pañña); SA. i, 273 (mantā-vacanaɱ = subhā-sitaɱ); D. ii, 246, mantāya bodhabbaɱ.
