[1] THUS have I heard.

On a certain occasion the Exalted One was staying near Sāvatthī.

Then the Exalted One addressed the brethren, saying:

"Brethren."

"Yes, lord," replied those brethren to the Exalted One.

The Exalted One said:

"Through an element it is, brethren,
that beings flow together,
meet together.

They of wrong views with them of wrong views;
they of wrong aims with them of wrong aims,
they of wrong speech with them of wrong speech,
they of wrong conduct with them of wrong conduct,
they of wrong livelihood with them of wrong livelihood,
they of wrong endeavour with them of wrong endeavour,
they of wrong mindfulness with them of wrong mindfulness,
they of wrong concentration with them of wrong concentration.

They of right views with them of right views,
they of right aims with them of right aims,
they of right speech with them of right speech,
they of right conduct with them of right conduct,
they of right livelihood with them of right livelihood,
they of right endeavour with them of right endeavour,
they of right mindfulness with them of right mindfulness,
they of right concentration with them of right concentration.
