[1][pts][than][olds] On one occasion, while dwelling at Sāvatthī, the Blessed One said this:

[3][pts][than][olds] "Bhikkhus, this saṅsāra is without discoverable beginning. A first point is not discerned of beings roaming and wandering on hindered by ignorance and fettered by craving.

[4][pts][than][olds] Whenever you see anyone in misfortune, in misery, you can conclude: 'We too [658] have experienced the same thing in this long course.'

[5][pts][than][olds] For what reason?

[6][pts][than][olds] Because, bhikkhus, this saṅsāra is without discoverable beginning. A first point is not discerned of beings roaming and wandering on hindered by ignorance and fettered by craving.

[7][pts][than][olds] It is enough to be liberated from them."
