[145]

[1] Thus have I heard:

On a certain occasion the Exalted One was staying near Sāvatthī.

Then the Exalted One addressed the monks, saying:

"Monks."

"Yes, lord," they replied, and the Exalted One said:

"Monks, there are these four powers.

What four?

The power of faith,
of energy,
of innocence,[1]
of collectedness."[2]

[1] Anavajja = niddosa. Comy.

[2] Sangāha. Comy., however, appears to take it as from sangaṇhana (showing kindness).
