Notes and Corrigendum

The stock phrase, anupādisesāya nibbānadhātuyā, is here translated: 'in the cool element to which naught attaches' - see pp. 139, 210; at G.S. ii. 124 'in the Nibbāna-state wherein naught remains behind at Dial. ii. 117 'in that utter passing away in which nothing whatever is left behind'; and at Dial. iii. 127 'without any condition of rebirth remaining.'

For various aspects of Nibbāna, as portrayed in Therīgāthā, see Sisters, p. xxxvii ff.

For Gīta in the notes read Gītā.
